Battery Powered Personal Fan

IMG_9038.jpg

We created a battery powered personal fan out of 3D printed designs. This battery powered fan can be used for several occasions such as personal use, relief, extreme heat and found to be very convenient. These fans provide personal comfort without using an excessive amount of energy&supply. This device could be used for heath and relief providing airflow directly to the face. This fan has many benefits for personal use and is found to be very convenient.

To create the parts needed for the fan, we used a step by step guide from instructables on how to print each part needed to create the fan. The parts that we will need to be printed are the body, fan, front, lid and stand. First you design your parts on onshape( a 3D printing website), next you will download your model and print the parts.

Printing

Steps needed to be downloaded onto 3D printing website of choice, I chose Onshape. Once downloaded steps, select printing color of choice and begin printing

  1. body.stl
  2. fan.stl
  3. front grid.stl
  4. lid.stl
  5. stand.stl (can be printed later, as it is not important for the assembly)

Assembling Fan

To begin assembling first you will remove any excess 3D printed material to ensure your pieces fit together. To begin building the fan you will first you will glue the body of the fan together.

Assembling

Your next step will be to put your 2 AA batteries in your battery holder. You then will connect the wires from the battery holder to a mini motor as well as the toggle switch. Test to make sure battery is connected to wires.

Next connect the wires from both the motor and battery pack to the blades.

Test

Lastly slide the back of the fan on to conceal the batteries and wires from showing. Next test if the blades rotate the fan is blowing cool air and everything works properly. Also test out your stand for the fan and see if the fan will fit. Enjoy your new fan!!
