Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a great day, whenever you’re reading this. Today, I’ll show you how to make these beautiful beaded flowers. This tutorial is designed for a hair accessory, but you can easily adapt the base to create earrings, rings, or even home décor. Let’s get started!

Take about 1.5 feet of wire. I’m making an ombré flower, but you can use the same technique for a solid colour or a larger design.

Start threading your beads in this order:

  1. 4 of your lightest colour (Colour A)
  2. 4 medium-coloured beads (Colour B)
  3. 8 of the darkest shade (Colour C)
  4. 4 Colour B
  5. 4 Colour A

Once all the beads are on the wire, slide them towards one end, leaving about 10 cm of wire free on one side. Twist the wire tightly to secure the beads into a loop. Gently press the loop at the centre to form two parallel lines of beads.

Repeat this process two more times so you have three loops in total.

Next, thread only half the beads (4 + 4 + 4) onto the wire. Pass the wire through the top beads of each of the three loops you created earlier. If you notice gaps where the wire is visible, you can add a few of the darkest beads to fill them.

Once all three loops are secured onto the main wire, add the remaining half of the beads (4 + 4 + 4) and wrap everything together tightly.

You now have one petal ready.

Repeat this process to make a total of five petals.

Make the Stamens

Cut about 30 cm of wire. Thread 4 beads onto it and twist to secure.

Repeat this step twice more so you have three stamens in total.

Assemble the Flower

Start by twisting two petals together. Once they are secure, add a third petal. Then insert and twist in the stamens. Finally, attach the remaining petals by twisting them into place.

Your flower will begin to take shape adjust and arrange the petals until you’re happy with how it looks.

Finish Neatly

Turn the flower over and look at the underside. Twist all the wires tightly to secure everything in place. Trim any excess wire and tuck the ends in carefully so they don’t scratch your scalp.

And you’re done!

I find that simply placing it in your hair works well, but you can use a few bobby pins for extra security if needed. And that’s it your beaded flower is ready!
