Problem: We need an affordable, safe solution for lighting up our Jack-o-Lantern every Halloween.

Solution: This is a simple circuit utilizing a battery, a couple magnets (for use as a temporary circuit to avoid soldering), and the LED filament light. No flame, no heat or danger, super bright and it lasts a long time. An affordable and easy solution that will keep your pumpkin bright all through the Spooky Season.

Flexible filament:

DC3V 130/300mm Flexible Filament LED

3V Batteries - Any size will work but flat ones like the CR2032 are easier.

Clear storage container: Just something to keep it dry and protected. I had an old plastic container like the one shown, but you could use anything similar such as:  clear plastic sandwich bag, clear film container, clear script bottle from a pharmacy.

Optional but highly recommended: These magnets hold the filament wire to the battery so no solder is needed.2 types of magnets, one smaller and one slightly larger (1x2mm) and (6x2mm)

I’ve detailed two designs one with 1 battery, another with 2.

The assembly is super easy. Put your circuit together in the following order, with these simple steps for one battery:

1) Filament Wire (+ positive side)

2) Smallest Magnet (1x2mm)

3) Battery (+ positive side up)

6) Smallest Magnet (1x2mm)

7) Filament Wire (negative end)
