Start with the design, draw out the badge that tickles your fancy!

Create Wax Structure

you'll need to melt and pour your wax into a dish or container to form the shape shown above. The initial form is what your carving off, so it doesn't matter heaps because you will get there eventually, it just makes the process easier if you start with a shape thats close to your design.

Start carving! This process can be brutal and you'll make heaps of mistakes, probably having to start again at times, butttt dont give up, its rewarding when you put in the effort and your beautiful design gets cast in metal.

Tip: I found scoring the wax helps layout and organise where to carve.

Send to Get Casted

Get your wax carving casted! This process i get done externally, its usually only $15 to get casted + metal costs but its alot easier than doing the process yourself.

Search casting facilities to get your wax casted.

Search Lost Wax Casting to learn more about the casting process.

Embroider Onto Cloths

Finally you'll need to embroider your badge onto your item of choice. get your needle and thread and i would recommend stitching it on with 6 + loops on each side of the badge.

You can put these in the wash or atleast I do.... Maybe be cautious with this and test it somehow but i found it was okay.
