Cliff House: Preserving Green Space
This cliff house is designed using stilts and is integrated into a wall, allowing it take up less land and protect valuable green space. By minimizing the amount of green space used to can help to preserve eco-systems, reduce environmental footprint, lowers land disruption, and helps to support sustainable development.
Supplies
Materials
- Lazer cutting machine (The one used in this project was the trotec Speedy 360)
- Plywood (1/8 thick)
- Wood Glue
Applications:
- TROTEC Job Control
Adobe Illustrator
Download the file attached and upload it into TROTEC job control
Downloads
Trotec Job Control
- Select the 'Materials' button and choose 'Plywood'
- Put the plywood in the top left corner of the machine
- Ensure that the file is aligned with lazer on the Job Control document
- Press 'Print'
Assemble
- Once your pieces have been cut out its time to assemble!
- Using the wood glue attach the pieces together in their respected spot.
- Ensure that you do not use a excessive amount of glue as it will make harder to keep things clean and in order.
(Keep in mind to not attach the supports until after you mounted it to the desired wall)
Backboard
- Make sure that the wall that the house is being attached to has a hole 4.25 inches x 10 inches.
- Ensure that this hole is 5 inches above the ground to provide space for the supports
Finish
- Attach the supports in between each arch on the porch.
- Once completed your house is ready to go!!!!
