IMG_9513.jpeg

It’s been FOREVRRR since I last posted a new collaboration project, but now here we are. Today we’re gonna dive into making the yarn tail by Dat_wizard_guy and part of Fury Omega by IrrelEvant Paper Planes! Let’s get into it.

Supplies

(For Fury Omega)

  1. square paper
  2. bone folder creasing tool(not needed but highly recommended)
  3. tweezers
  4. Patience (your gonna need it)

(For the yarn tail)

  1. LOTS OF YARN
  2. sciscors
  3. money (for yarn)
  4. sanity (you MIGHT pass with 1000, no guarantee, i would say more than 1500. if you don't have sanity to lose like me then even better. after dis go drink coffee and chocolate so you don't gain a big mouth with sharp teeth and the urge to destroy peoples)
  5. a smol book or journal
  6. a ruler
  7. comb (optional)
  8. pet brush (optional)
  9. tape
  10. safety pin

Fold in Half

Do two diagonal folds.

Fold in Half Vertically and Squash Fold

IMG_9454.jpeg
IMG_9455.jpeg
IMG_9456.jpeg

Flip it over, fold in half vertically, and squash fold.

Squash Fold on the Other Side

IMG_9457.jpeg
IMG_9458.jpeg

It should look like this when you’ve done that squash fold.

Fold the Big Flap Up and the Excess Down

IMG_9459.jpeg
IMG_9460.jpeg

Fold that layer you just squash up from point to point, flip it over and fold the remaining layer down as far as it can go.

Do a Sequence

IMG_9461.jpeg
IMG_9462.jpeg
IMG_9463.jpeg
IMG_9464.jpeg

Fold to the center, flip over and take that crease to the center, and fold in.

Repeat

IMG_9465.jpeg

Just do that sequence on the other side.

Release the Trapped Paper and Squash Fold

You should know how to do this from the Haymaker tutorial.

Pedal Fold

Re-collapse 1.

IMG_9473.jpeg

Start to collapse on the marked creases until it looks like this.

Re-collapse 2.

(you should know how to do a squash like that) when you mirror the creases, just do it on the lines I marked to show you where to press down.

Lie It Back Down and Fold Back In

I ought to add something here…

Yarn Brand

IMG_9487.jpeg

this is the yarn brand I suggest

Core

IMG_9488.jpeg

take however long you want your tail to be (with any thin string) then double it and cut it off.

Bundles

IMG_9489.jpeg
IMG_9490.jpeg
IMG_9491.jpeg
IMG_9492.jpeg
IMG_9493.jpeg
IMG_9494.jpeg
IMG_9495.jpeg

get a note book that is roughly 12.7 cm (5 inches) long (make sure its taller than it is wide) and then tuck the end of the string of your choice inside the book then wrap the string around the book. when you fill about half the book with the compressed yarn then cut the string at the seam of the book.

Bundles (again)

IMG_9496.jpeg

then cut the yarn at the seam down the middle. then fold the yarn in half and cut it in the middle.

Fluff

IMG_9497.jpeg
IMG_9498.jpeg

if you have thin yarn like me then put ten strands together then tie only ONE knot. rinse and repeat till you don't have enough string left to make another full one. keep da extras and for later layers.

Tie Da Fluff

IMG_9499.jpeg
IMG_9500.jpeg

put the bundle in-between the core string, then take one strand from either side of the bundle and tie a DOUBLE knot with them. make Sure that it's in the middle, trust, you need it there.

ALTERNATE don't do if you haven't gotten to step 7!!!

take BOTH of the core strings and a bundle and take one strand from either side of the bundle and tie a DOUBLE knot with them that's around BOTH core strings. you can put one bundle on or you can put as many that can fit like me. but if you do leave space!!!! (so they don't get tangled up while you're trying to brush it)

Brush

IMG_9502.jpeg
IMG_9503.jpeg

take the comb and GENTLY brush out the yarn fibers out. then take the pet brush and do the same thing until it is fluffiness you want it to be. DON'T BRUSH OUT TOO MUCH!!! IT WILL LOOK BAD!!!!!!!! trust ;3 or if you want it to be super fluffy then skip the comb and go HAM with the pet brush. (but don't brush it too much!!) if you do this it will also take a LOT less time.

Repeat

IMG_9504.jpeg
IMG_9506.jpeg
IMG_9507.jpeg
IMG_9508.jpeg
IMG_9509.jpeg

repeat steps 4-7 till you think you're done this time do "ALTERNATE" for step 6 and do step 2 and 3 if you run out of strands. after doing steps 4-6 alternate vision scoot it down to your last bundle, as your building up rotate them.

Finish It

watch da video

Done!!!!!
