Controller for People Affected by Paraplegia

IMG_0384.jpeg

To provide an adaptable and accessible typing experience for individuals with paraplegia, this custom controller utilizes a diverse suite of inputs tailored to limited mobility. The system maps a standard push button to the W key and a high-sensitivity microswitch to the A key. For hands-free operation, a sip-and-puff mechanism is integrated to trigger the S key, while an infrared (IR) sensor is mapped to the D key for touchless activation. Finally, an integrated joystick handles mouse emulation, granting the user full, independent control over both keyboard inputs and cursor navigation.
