The Corn-stume

Hi everyone! Today I’m showcasing a costume made from materials we often take for granted.

Why not do something cool with these materials and give them a second chance?

To create it, I used pieces of cardboard boxes that were destined for the trash, as well as cardboard egg cartons; I combined them to form the creation I’m about to show you.

Here you can download the templates for the Rapberry Pi Cool Helmet, and then review step by step which one corresponds and guide you through the assembly.

Cut out each template piece separately; use the images as a guide for arranging the pieces when gluing them.

The yellow parts correspond to the body of the corn cob, and the green pieces to the side leaves.

Transfer the templates onto the cardboard scraps.

Use a pencil or a marker to do this.

Remember to leave a tab on the cardboard for joining the pieces; this will add sturdiness to the finished sections. For the corn itself, you will need to make 10 identical pieces, and for the side leaves, 20 pieces that will be joined to form 10 leaves.

Using scissors or a sharp cutter, cut out the templates that were transferred to the cardboard.

To form a corn leaf, you need to make two green pieces, one facing forward and the other facing the opposite way, after that then glue them together in the middle; here, you only need to create tabs on one side.

using the old pen, mark the lines to create the folds.

Please note that in some areas the folding tabs are valley-shaped and in others mountain-shaped.

Then, glue each piece down the middle to form a leaf; make as many leaves as you like—I recommend making 10 so the costume looks nice and full.
