Cosplay

345.jpg

This is an instant creation of how to make a quick cosplay in under a week before enjoying a day at a convention. Most of this usually took at least 6 hours a day, which, in total, made 18 hours of work time.

Supplies

I used a pair of pants and heart patches to make the pants, then used some cloth to make a jacket cover, which also included some fleece, a sewing kit, and a hot glue gun.

Find Reference Photo

I searched on Pinterest for the character I wanted to cosplay

Buy or Find a Pair of Pants

I bought a nice pair of pants from Walmart so that I could modify and wear them.

Cut the Hearts

I used the heart patches, but they were a little big, so I cut them to size and used them easily to add them to the pants.

Hot Glue the Hearts to the Pants

I used some hot glue and a measuring tape to gap 2 1/2 inches apart from each other, and stuck them to the pants.

Try the Pants

I wore the pants to see what I could do for each part and find the next steps. Following the references and the lesson on what I was searching for, I enjoyed making the pants.

Look at References for Jacket

I looked at a second reference for her jacket and slowly moved to that where I used 3 yards of cloth for the outfit because of my body shape and how it could fit easily.

Cut and Sew Items That Seem Correct

While I have missed a few steps to take photos of, I used a long-sleeved shirt I previously had and traced the outline for the back and front. I then traced the size of the sleeves and cut them to size. Next, I sewed the front and back together while it was inside out for the seams to match on the outside. The picture included is to make sure the sleeve is lined up before doing a front stitch to make sure the shirt stays together.

Glue the Fluff

After I had sewn the jacket together, I began to hot-glue the fleece to the jacket so it would stick. I placed the fleece on the neck, the wrist cuffs, and the chest area.

Try on the Jacket

I had hot glued hearts on the sides of the jacket for more of a final touch and tried it on to make sure the outfit fit me fully. Now that that was done, I had completed my cosplay and was ready for the convention.

Enjoy the Convention!

I went to FanX with my friend and got to meet multiple actors and get their autographs. A photo shoot with the characters we dressed up as, also. I enjoyed the convention and enjoyed being able to dress up.
