Round 1:-
Start with a Magic circle.
Chain 2(Not Counted as a stitch)
12 Double Crochets in the Magic Circle.
Pull the Yarn end to close the gap.
Slip stitch on top of the First Double Crochet.
Change the Yarn Color while making the Slip Stitch.
12 Stitches.
Round 2:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.(while making the FPDC insert your hook through the Chain 2 as well. This will give a neat finish)
Repeat(1DC,(1FPDC-in the same stitch)).
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.
How to Make the Stacked Single Crochet.....??? Here it is :-
- Start with a regular Single Crochet in the 1st stitch.
- Insert your hook into the 2nd Vertical Leg of the Single Crochet(i.e the 2nd Vertical Leg from Right to Left ), Yarn Over and Pull up a loop - 2 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and Pull through the 2 loops.
- That's 1 Stacked Single Crochet made.
Round 3:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet, 1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
Repeat((1DC,(1DC,1FPDC))
Slip stitch on top of the First Double Crochet.
Change the Yarn Color while making the Slip Stitch.
36 Stitches.
Round 4:-
Chain 5.
1 Front Post Single Crochet on the next Front Post Double Crochet from the Previous round.
Repeat(Chain 5, 1FPSC)
Once you reach the end make a Slip Stitch into the 1st Chain 5 space and Change the Yarn Color while making the Slip Stitch.
Round 5:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
Continue with 4 Double Crochets , Chain 2, 5 Double Crochets all in the same Chain space.
1 Single Crochet into the next chain space.
Repeat((5DC,Ch2,5DC), 1 SC into the next Ch space)).
Once you reach the end , make a Slip Stitch on top of the 1st Double Crochet and Weave off.
Round 6:-
This Round We will be Working into the stitches from Round 3.
Change the Yarn Color and Join the yarn into the 1st stitch of Round 3.
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet into the same stitch (i.e. the 1st Stitch)
Chain 1,
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch - that's the 1st Corner made.
1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
1 Single Crochet each in the next 3 Stitches.
1 Half Double Crochet each in the next 2 Stitches.
Repeat((2DC,Ch1,2DC- in the next St),1HDC*2,1SC*3,1HDC*2)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
44 Stitches, 4 Chain 1 spaces.
Round 7:-
Start with a Stacked Single Crochet - This will be counted as a Double Crochet.
1 Double Crochet in each stitch untill you reach the Corner.
In the Chain 1 Space make - (2 Double Crochets, Chain 2, 2 Double Crochets)- that's the corner made.
Repeat(1DC in each stitch untill corner),(2DC,Ch2,2DC)-in corner stitch)
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
60 Stitches.
Round 8 to Round 10:-
Repeat Round 7.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet and weave off.
*** In Round 8 - while making the Double Crochets, insert your hook through each point of the flower from Round 5 to have a neat finish.
***If you wish to make a large size square, then keep repeating Round 7 untill the size needed.
With each round the stitch count will increase by 16.
