DIY Laser-Cut Engrave Wedding Wine Bottle

A personalized wine bottle can become part of the wedding décor itself, with the couple's names, initials, wedding date, or a simple graphic engraved directly onto the glass.

This project uses shallow surface engraving to add the wedding design while keeping the original bottle shape intact. The finished bottle can be used as a reception display, table decoration, keepsake, or personalized gift.

Once the basic layout is prepared, the same workflow can be adapted for different names, dates, monograms, venue details, or wedding themes.

Supplies

Thunder Bolt laser engraving machine
One empty glass wine bottle – clean and dry

Laser settings for engraving: speed 600mm/s, max power 30%, min power 10%, LOW air assist, 300 DPI, Horizontal Bidirectional mode.

Prepare & Position the Wine Bottle

Start with an empty glass wine bottle and clean the outside surface so the intended engraving area is free from labels, adhesive, fingerprints, and residue.

Place the bottle securely on the laser worktable with the engraving area facing upward. Make sure the bottle cannot roll or shift and choose a relatively even section of the curved surface for the wedding design.

Import & Adjust the Wedding Design

Import the wedding artwork into LaserMaker and resize it to fit the available engraving area on the bottle.

Check the orientation of names, initials, dates, and decorative details before processing. Assign the artwork to the engraving layer and use the shallow surface engraving setup prepared for this glass bottle project.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Set the laser focus at the center of the intended engraving area on the glass surface before starting the job.

Use the Thunder Bolt autofocus function for a quick setup or confirm the focal position manually. Because the wine bottle is curved, use the center of the artwork area as the main focus reference and keep the bottle in the same position after focusing.

Frame the Design & Start Laser Engraving

Run the Frame function to preview the engraving position and confirm that the complete wedding design sits within the intended area of the bottle.

Check the alignment one final time, then start the engraving process. Keep the bottle securely positioned throughout the job and monitor the engraving until the complete design is finished.

Clean & Finish the Wedding Wine Bottle

After engraving is complete, allow the bottle to settle before removing it from the worktable. Inspect the finished names, date, or decorative design for clear details and correct placement.

Gently wipe the engraved area with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to remove loose residue. Clean the rest of the bottle as needed and dry the surface before using it as wedding décor, a display piece, or a keepsake.
