Supplies

This project shows how to make a paper flipping toy using simple materials.

It demonstrates a smooth folding mechanism and is completely safe with no sharp edges.

This is a fun and creative paper craft focused on hand skills and design.

Prepare the Paper Boards

Connect multiple sheets of scratch paper and roll them into a tight cylinder. Flatten the cylinder into a rectangular strip to create a sturdy paper board. Repeat this until you have four thick, rigid boards.

Shape the Blade and Decorations

Use one board to cut out the blade, making sure to punch four assembly holes at the base. Use another board to cut out any decorative pieces you’d like to add.

Construct the Handles

Take the remaining two boards and fold each into thirds to create two identical U-shaped channels for the handles. At the top of each handle, cut a center notch and punch a hole on both sides. Round off the top corners into a circular arc.

Snip off the cotton tips from several cotton swabs. Use the remaining plastic/paper sticks as pins to hinge and assemble all the parts together.
