▶️ Print Your Pathpuzzle
Now that you’ve designed your perfect puzzle game, it’s time to print! The best type of journal notebook for this project is one with blank pages—no lines or grid patterns—because your printed pathpuzzle already includes a grid pattern for easy gameplay.
▶️ Journal notebook & Puzzle Size Suggestions
In this example, we’re using a printed A6-sized puzzle and attaching it horizontally to an A5 notebook. This setup gives you space to draw player stats, track progress, or customize gameplay on the remaining half of the page.
▶️ Achieve a Premium Feel
For a premium finish, consider printing your pathpuzzle on transparent stickers. In many places (like Indonesia, my country), it’s affordable and easy to get high-quality custom stickers printed. For this project, we printed 8 pieces of custom A6 transparent or vinyl matte stickers for just $0.77. These sticker materials are durable, making them ideal for creating collectible game pieces that last, like this project.
❇️ Printing Tips
When printing your puzzle on A4, A5, or A6 paper, remember to leave a margin around the edges. This way, when you attach the printed puzzle to your journal notebook, the page will act as a clean frame around your puzzle, giving it a polished and aesthetic look.
▶️ Attach & Customize
You can attach the puzzle to your journal notebook page in either portrait or landscape orientation—whichever you prefer. Once attached, you’re ready to start designing your game mechanics and tracking your player stats!
Design the Games
The Pathpuzzle Engine gives you endless possibilities to design and play your own unique puzzle games. Here are a few gameplay ideas to get you started:
1️⃣ Single-Player Mode: Solve the Puzzle
Play on your own by solving the pathpuzzle. Your goal? Find the correct path to reach the key, which unlocks the only access to the finish door. Once you’ve solved the puzzle, you can trace the correct path using a gel pen—perfect if you’ve printed your puzzles on transparent or vinyl matte stickers.
2️⃣3️⃣4️⃣ Multiplayer Mode: Compete & Cooperate
There are a variety of ways to make your puzzle game even more exciting with friends:
- Compete against others to see who can finish the puzzle the fastest.
- Use Rock, Paper, Scissors as a fun mechanic to decide which players get to move and how they’ll progress through the puzzle.
- Take advantage of the DICE feature in the Pathpuzzle Engine to create even more dynamic movement mechanics, adding layers of chance to your game!
⚡💀 📊 Embrace Custom Gameplay with Emoji Objects
Make your game even more interesting by using emoji objects creatively. Place power-ups (⚡) on the path to boost players or obstacles (💀) to slow them down. You can design your puzzles with these elements in mind, providing different advantages or challenges as players make their way through the maze.
The best part? You have the freedom to tweak the game mechanics and design the puzzles however you like—whether you’re playing solo or with friends!
Spice Up and Nurture
Your Puzzle Game Pocket Journal doesn’t just have to be a boredom companion—it can become something much more meaningful! Here's how you can make it special:
🆙 Go Beyond Practicality
While it's great that your Pocket Journal is handy and easy to carry, why not take it further? Treat it as a source of pride, a personal project that’s exciting to create, valuable to nurture, and memorable to look back on.
🎆 Add a Splash of Creativity
Personalize each page with colorful stickers and vibrant ink. Whether it's doodles, designs, or custom player stats, make every page feel unique and creative.
⛵ Explore New Materials
Don’t stop at just one type of printed paper media. Try printing your puzzles on different paper materials available in your area. Use durable materials to make your puzzles long-lasting and collectible.
🤝 Share the Fun
Invite your family, friends, or partner to play your custom games. Create special memories with them by playing different gameplay mechanics you've designed. Let your Pocket Journal serve as a keepsake of these moments, so you can revisit those fun times whenever you need a little nostalgia.
