There is no need for increasing or decreasing the stitches. All you have to do is fold the rectangle and Sew it up to shape the slippers.

The Slipper pattern is made with Griddle Stitch. The Griddle Stitch is a very pretty and easy crochet stitch. It is made with just Single Crochets and Double Crochets which are worked on alternatively. This gives the stitch a lovely zig zag texture. Joining:-

**Lay the Short side of the rectangle facing up. This will form the Toe Side and the other end will form the Heel.

Using a yarn needle, make running stitches on top of the Slipper.

Pull the yarn end to clinch and gather up the top.

Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise and Join both the ends with a yarn needle up to 3 inches.

Carefully sew the ends so that there is no hole seen on the toe side and weave off.

Sew both the ends of the Heel side (start from Top to Bottom)

Once you reach the bottom end, fold heel side a bit and make the stitches and weave off the yarn ends.

This will give a neat finish to the slipper.

Turn the Slipper inside out.**

Repeat from ** to ** to sew the other slipper.

You can use the slipper as it is or you can sew in decorative buttons or any other embellishments on the toe side
