Easy Urban Birdhouse From Cardboard
A simple DIY home for our bird friends living amongst us
Supplies
You'll need:
Cardboard
Hot Glue (or any glue you prefer)
Box cutter/scissors
Draw & Cut the Unfolded Shape on Your Cardboard
Draw shape as shown in the photo. The long part -which is shown by the red arrow- should be measured according to the structure you will place it on. Make sure that part is longer than the width and height of the structure combined. Then cut the shape out in one piece following the bold lines.
Make the Folding Points
Make shallow cuts to the thin lines then turn the cardboard to the other side. Mark the long piece according to the measurements of your structure and do 2 shallow cuts there as well.
Fold Along the Lines and Cut the T Shaped Space
Fold the long piece and mark where the end of the piece touches the main body. cut out a T shaped space there, make the head of the T longer and thinner than the T shaped tip of the long piece.
Assemble the Nest and Glue It Together
Fold along the edges we created and glue the nest from the two opposite ends. Place the T shaped tip in the hole and push it down to lock it.
AND YOU'RE DONE!
Congratulations! You made a new home for many little birds living in populated areas. Now place your birdhouse and do not forget the share photos!
