Wanted to create an egress window well cover. The covers available at big box stores are for windows below the ground level. The custom covers that are molded plexiglass that are expensive and bland. Also, small bunnies would jump while playing fall in window well.

This is what the window looks like before I started. Pressure treated 4x4 and 2x4, pvc fence post sleeves, left over spindles from deck rail, pvc trim boards, polycarbonate sheet and window screen.

Put in 4x4 pressure treated post at the outside corners, with pvc post sleeves, attached 2x4 top and bottom rails.

Covered 2x4s with white pvc, drilled holes in rails for spindles, then put polycarbonate sheet om top to keep leaves from falling in window well. Since wife didn't believe small bunnies would not jump and fit perfectly between spindles, I had to cover window well with a screen that will move if the window is opened.
