FlexyPin is an open source project created by Solder Party AB - All credits deserved: https://github.com/solderparty/flexypin

This project is an alternative way to obtain the pins that are needed. It's a tutorial to form by hand the metallic pins, using simple and acessible tools.

Supplies

Stapler

Pliers

~3mm diameter Cylindrical Object (can be a pen, screwdriver, small tube, etc)

Make open clinch staples. You should get something similar to the one in the photo

First Bend

VID 20260714 113328354

Using some cylindrical object with nearly 3mm of diameter, bend the staple in the middle like in the video.

Second Bend

VID 20260714 113410954

Using pliers, straighten out one of the sides.

Finishing

VID 20260714 113736742 Trim

Place the pin on the PCB, solder it, and then trim the excess pin. I trimmed it first in the video just to show how it looks.
