Frybread Hotdog
A fry bread hotdog is a hot dog fried covered in traditional fry bread dough. its placed in oil and fried until crispy and golden brown. These fried bread hot dogs are really easy and fun to make with friends.
Supplies
- measuring cups
- bowl
- pot
- stove
- tongs
- fork or something to stir
- paper towel
ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups water
- hotdogs
- oil for frying
Making the Dough
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Slowly pour the warm water into the bowl while stirring gently. when the dough is ready place it on a lightly floured surface.
Shaping the Dough
Shape the dough into balls then push it into a flat piece of dough that is big enough to fit the hotdog. Make sure the dough can wrap all the way around the hotdog and pinch the ends.
Cooking the Frybread Hotdogs
Carefully place the wrapped hot dogs into a pot with hot oil fry for 2-4 minutes turning them occasionally until there golden brown. Take them out of the pot with your tongs and place them to drain on a paper towel. Once golden brown let them cool down for a few minutes then serve with your favourite toppings.
Reflection
This was a very fun and amusing project to make with friends it was surprisingly easy. Next time I make this I would like to cook it for longer and maybe add cheese .
