Giant Uno Card Holder
Does anyone need to play with Uno with giant cards?
No, but it's so much fun so why not? We've had many a lively, laughter filled game due to the absurdity of the size of these cards!
Giant Uno cards presents some logistical issues for the player. Namely, they are hard to hold especially if you've been the recipient of multiple draw-four cards!
Steph designed a simple card holder built from easy to find and inexpensive 5-gallon wood paint sticks. Here's how it all came together.

Cut to Size
We are using the saw from the Dremel Blueprint saw station to cut all our pieces to size.
Each holder uses three of the 5-gallon paint sticks and a piece of 3/8" square dowel.
The paint sticks and dowel were cut to approximately 17". If you're making this for smaller cards then the length can be adjusted. After cutting the paint sticks and dowels to size, everything was given a light sanding.
Assembly
To assemble we set up our work station on a Keter Ultimate Workbench. It's of plastic construction so our glued pieces will not stick to it.
We glued the wood dowel and then put a paint stick vertically on each side of it. The stops on the table help to keep everything square while gluing. Once those pieces are in place, a horizontal paint stick is glued to the back. It is clamped gently as to not distort the pieces out of place. We left it to dry overnight.
Painting
We chose to paint our four holders with the Uno colors in a bright, gloss finish. To paint, we placed each holder on a lazy Susan in a spray shelter. The lazy Susan makes it easy to move the piece around to get all sides. We left them to dry overnight.
Finished
For Giant Uno, the entire length of the paint stick is needed, but if you're making holders for regular Uno or Tiny Uno the length of the paint stick can be made shorter.
Obviously these would be terrible hands in an actual game of Uno, but see how fun they look with their matching holder.
