- 2/3 cup of sugar (133g)

Make the Simple Syrup
Begin by heating up the water until it is boiling. Do this on the stovetop burn in a pot, or in the microwave for about 45 seconds to a minute.
Then add the sugar and stir until the liquid is clear.
Combine and Mix/Chill
Add the orange juice, simple syrup, and the salt to the ice cream machine and turn it on. It should run for at least 24 minutes. At least that is how long it takes in mine.
Eat or Freeze
Now, once it is done, the consistency will be similar to a slushy or slightly thicker than that. It is ready to be eaten, or you can put it in a freezer-safe container and then freeze for a few hours to firm it up.
Serve
Time to enjoy that homemade orange sorbet!
