Homework Paper Dress!

I've had all these old homework papers laying around, making my drawers heavy and taking up space. Instead of letting them waste away in my drawer to end up never being used, I decided to turn them into art, by making a life size paper dress!

3. Hot glue gun
4. Old homework assignments

Create a simple sketch that shows how the entire structure will be stabilized and come together. Make sure that throughout the sketch there is nothing that is not connected to the entire structure or that there is nothing which doesn't make sense, otherwise it will cause issues later on.

Create a simple base for the torso part. The sketch should show how each part will be connected, which will help when making the torso. Duct tape will keep it together yet is easy to remove when changes are necessary, making them optimal for the short term. Later on, reinforce the entire structure with hot glue.

Make the skirt part of the dress, making sure that the structure connects properly and elements of the sketch are still shown. Reinforce the entire structure with hot glue one again, and make sure paper can still be applied later on.

Now for the more fun part, begin to cover the torso part with the old homework papers. This is just a base to cover up the cardboard, so any crumpled or messy parts can be fixed later on as long as everything is put on properly.

Now, begin to wrap the skirt in paper as well. This may be more tricky, yet if you keep the paper in a constant pattern and follow your sketch idea, it should come together. During this step, you can also begin to smoothen and fix up any mistakes.

Now you can add various cute little accessories onto your dress using old materials! In mine, I decided to use some old brown paper bags to make small hearts, and use some other homework papers to make flowers and smoothen out the skirt.
