How to Create an Email Parser From Scratch

An email parser is a service or software program that extracts relevant data from emails and condenses it into a structured form.

In this instructable we're going to look at how we can construct an email parser from scratch.

A lot of businesses today are looking automate their processes. They use tools like Microsoft Flow or Zapier to automate the processes between systems. However a lot of processes simply start from the email inbox. We get hundreds of emails everyday and we usually respond in a manual way.

Parserr allows you to turn incoming emails into useful data to use in various other 3rd party systems.You can use to extract anything trapped in email such as website enquiries, inbound lead emails or even food orders. Once extracted, we make it super easy to transfer that data into a multitude of 3rd party systems including Excel, Google sheets, CRM's and more.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll be taken to a screen where you’re given a unique email address for your particular account

To push documents to Parserr's email parsing service, simply attach your documents to your email. Use your preferred email client to send an email, with your sample document attached, to your account.

Once it’s sent, the system will detect it automatically and move you to the next stage. Although its hard not to push the refresh button!
The first document sent is really just a sample. Its recommending to send through a couple of examples in order to make sure the parsing service

Parserr will now send you through the onboarding process. Along with a standard Excel or CSV format, you can also connect Parserr with Zapier to give you an even wider range of options for export, such as Google Sheets, MailChimp, Google Calendar and Slack.

To facilitate a smoother process, Parserr will ask what part of the email you would like to extract from and what third party application you’ll be extracting to. Simply choose your reply from the dropdown menu options provided and click “Next” to move on. One of the most common ways users compile parsed data is via a spreadsheet, so we’re showing you how to compile the data from your parsed PDFs into a Google Sheets spreadsheet.
