How to Draw a Spider Web!
If you're looking to learn to doodle, you're in the right place. Doodling is a great way to relax the brain, and a spiderweb doodle is a perfect place to start. Using only straight and curved lines, spiderwebs can become a mindless doodle after only a time or two of practice. And once you've mastered this simple version, this is a great drawing to experiment with and add some originality!
Supplies
- Something to draw ON
- Something to draw WITH
We will start by drawing 4 straight lines.
Vertical Line
First, draw a vertical line.
Horizontal Line
Then, draw a horizontal line through the center of your already existing vertical line.
Diagonal Line 1
Draw a diagonal line from the top-left to the bottom-right.
Make it pass through the center where the vertical and horizontal lines cross.
Diagonal Line 2
Now, draw another diagonal line from the top-right to the bottom-left.
This line should also pass through the center where the other three lines cross.
Choose a Section
Now that you have drawn your four lines, you should have eight small sections.
Choose one section to start with.
The First Curved Line
In one of your eight sections, draw a curved line, curving inward towards the center point.
Curved Lines Continued
Continue drawing more curved lines in the same way, moving away from the center, until there is no longer space in your section to draw more.
In this example, there was space for three curved lines.
Repeat Steps 6 & 7
You are going to repeat the process from steps 6 & 7 in all 8 of your sections.
HOWEVER, you will want to make sure that each curved line connects to the corresponding curved line in the section next to it.
For example, the curved line closest to the center in section 1 should connect with the curved line closest to the center in section 2.
Repeating Steps 6 & 7 Continued
As you complete steps 6 & 7 for all 8 sections, you will start to see the web!
Finished Product
Once you have completed each section, you have your spiderweb!
