Prepare the Wooden Plaque
Place the wood or plywood sheet flat on the laser bed with the engraving surface facing upward.
Use pins to hold the board in place if needed. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and stable so the engraving and cutting results stay consistent.
Import & Check the Design File
Import the Mom keepsake plaque design into your laser software, then adjust the size and position to fit the wooden sheet.
Check each layer carefully. Use the engraving layer for the Mom message and decorative details, then use the cutting layer for the outer plaque shape.
Set the Correct Focus
Focus is important for both clean engraving and accurate cutting.
Adjust the laser head or work table according to your machine’s focusing method. When the focus is correct, the engraved text will look sharper and the plaque outline will cut more cleanly.
Frame the Design & Start Engraving and Cutting
Use the frame function to preview the processing area and confirm that the plaque design fits within the wooden sheet.
Start with the engraving layer first, then run the cutting layer to cut out the plaque shape. Keep air assist on and supervise the machine while cutting wood.
Clean & Finish the Keepsake Plaque
Carefully remove the wooden plaque and clean off dust or residue from the engraving and cutting edges. Then assemble the keepsake plaque onto the display frame.
You can keep the natural wood color for a warm handmade look, or add paint, ribbon, a stand, or a personal note to make the Mother’s Day gift even more special.
