Brownies are one dessert that many people enjoy that can easily be made by anyone with only a few ingredients that everyone has! Most people make them from a box but here I will show you just how easy they can be made from scratch.
Supplies
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable or canola oil
- 2/3 cup of cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups of of granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (optional)
Prep the Oven and Pan
Preheat the oven to 325°. Line 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper and spray the parchment paper with baking or cooking spray.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients (cocoa powder, flour, sugar, and salt) until completely mixed
Combine Liquid Ingredients
In another large bowl or standing mixer, whisk together the eggs, water, oil, and vanilla together until completely mixed
Add Dry Ingredients
In the same large bowl or standing mixer, gradually add the mixed dry ingredients and slowly stir until it is completely mixed (be careful on not to over mix batter). Add the chocolate chips if you wish. The batter should be of a thick consistency.
Pour the Batter
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and using a spatula, evenly spread the batter throughout the dish. Add a few chocolate tips on top if you would like. Place into the oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean with no residue. Wait until they are completely cool to cut and serve with dusted powdered sugar on top or a scoop of ice cream and enjoy! They can be stored into an air tight container for up to 4 days in room temperature or up to a week in the refrigerator.
