How to Make Clay Roses

I created a clay rose that can be used as a decoration, or simply done as a relaxing craft that can be destroyed afterwards. Something about the repetition of making and attaching each petal of the rose is very relaxing to me, so I thought I would share this fun craft with the world!

The only materials you need are easily workable clay and two hands ready to work!

First, you want to roll out a sliver of clay. Then, you want to roll it up in order to create the center of the rose.

Next, you must make the petals. To do this, create a small sphere of clay. Then, squish this between two fingers to create a petal shape. I like to make a bunch in advance before I move on to the next step.

Now, attach the petals around the center piece. Smush the bottom of the petals onto the center piece so they stick. Keep adding petals until you have created your ideal rose.

This step is optional, but I think it adds to the rose. To create a vine, roll out a thin piece of green clay. Then, angle it so that it is curved. Next, attach the rose by adding a small amount of clay to the bottom and squishing it onto the vine. Next, create small leaves and attach them to the vine. Finally, attach the vine to the sides of the rose to make it look more realistic. You have now completed a clay rose!!
