How to Make a Paper Boat

This instructable gives you a step by step build on how to build a paper boat from start to finish. I cover the materials and tools required and give you some tips I learned that will help you. The goal is to be able to understand and memorise these easy steps so that you can make a perfect paper boat every time without breaking a sweat.

For your supplies all you are going to need is a piece of paper

Step 1

Take a 8 and a half x 11 sheet of paper and fold it in half hot dog way so the corners connect.

Step 2

Unfold the paper then fold it in half the hamburger way so the corners touch again.

Step 3

Turn the paper so that the opening is facing towards you, then fold the top 2 corners into the middle and make sure the fold lines up with the centre crease line.

Step 4

Take the bottom of the paper and fold the first flap up to the bottom of the triangle, then flip the paper over and do the exact same thing to that side. It should look like a paper hat.

Step 5

take the bottom corners then fold the over to the other side of the paper, once you have done it to one side do it to the other side. It should look like a triangle now.

Step 6

Pick up the triangle and rotate it 45 degrees then take your hands and put them inside the triangle and pull outwards so the triangle turns into a diamond.

Step 7

Flip the flaps on the bottom to the top so it becomes a triangle.

Step 8

Fold the triangle outwards by pulling the bottom of the triangle apart.

Step 9

Take the top of the diamond with your fingers on the top of the fold and then pull out wards until it looks the shape of the boat and then you are complete.
