Before you wanna start throwing, you need to get your arm ready so it doesn't get injured. So you want to grab your band and put the strap around your wrist. And walk forward until there's enough tension. And then follow the motion of what I'm doing in these stretches. After you're done with the bands, you also need to stretch out your legs so you can use your power to push off the mound. And get more speed on the ball

Leg Stretchs

After you're done with the bands, you also need to stretch out your legs so you can use your power in your legs to push off the mound and get more speed on the ball so it's harder for the batter to make contact with the ball.

Soft Toss With Another Person

After you're done with all the stretching and you feel loose, you should throw some light toss with someone else just to get your arm even more ready for pitching. And do that for about 5-10 minutes and back up farther after like 5 throws. And once your arm feels 100 percent ready to pitch, you can get ready to start pitching.

Pitching Distance

Before you wanna start pitching, you need to have something to throw into, like a net, or you can have someone catch for you. And from where you're throwing to where your pitch is has to be 60ft apart.

Ready to Pitch

IMG_0342.jpg

Now, once you're fully ready, you can pitch, but there are steps and different mechanics you have to follow, so when you wanna pitch, you wanna stand sideways towards where you're pitching to with your shoulders feet width apart and keep your balance while in that stance and look at where you wanna throw to and don’t take you eyes of the target.

Pitching Motion

Next, when you're going through the motion, you wanna have your front knee come up to your waist height and keep your glove hand and the other hand you have the baseball in together.

Next, take a stride towards the target with your front leg and make sure your back legs push off for more power, and Land with your front foot facing pointing towards the target.

Finishing Motion

Next, you want to rotate your hips and shoulders towards your target, and then bring your throwing arm over the top, and then release the ball in front of your body, but when you're throwing, you want to make sure that your glove arm is at your shoulder height, at like a 90-degree angle. And bring your back leg over to where it should now be your front one.

Tips

Step 9 (tips when pitching) Some tips when pitching are that you want to really keep your balance while maintaining the mechanics. Another one is that your eyes should never come off the target to help with your accuracy when pitching. Another key tip is to use your legs to generate more power so that your arm doesn't have to do all the work and can stay away from arm injuries.
