How to Tape the Top and Bottom of Your Hockey Stick

This will instruct you on how to tape the top and bottom of your stick. In this instructable, you will also learn how to take the tape off of your stick when it is used and dirty. Depending on how much you play I recommend taping your stick either once a week or once every other week.

• hockey tape
• hockey stick
• scissors

• On the heel
• On the tow
• On the top of the stick

• Roll out a little bit of tape and put it on the sides of the top of the stick
• Roll out 1 inch of tape then put it on the top of the stick.
• Rub it down so that it sticks well

• Roll out a medium amount of tape
• Flip the roll of tape over and over put so the sticky part is on the outside
• Put it on your stick in a candy cane form

• Roll out a medium amount of tape
• Start about a hand length down from the top of your stick
• Tape going up in a candy cane pattern

• On the bottom edge, you want to roll out 5-6 inches of tape
• Place it on the bottom part of your stick the goes on the ice
• Rub it with the tape roll to secure it

• Start by rolling out 4-5 inches of tape
• Then place it on the edge of the tow
• Then start taping over that piece of tapelike a candy can and work your way towards the heel of the stick

• You should already have your measurements so now roll out how much tape you need
• With the tape, you that you have started to tape at the tow then work your way towards the heel
• Then cut the tape and rub the tape on your stick to make it secure

• To take the tape off the top of the stick you will find the edge where you stopped taping
• Pull-on that all the way to the bottom
• Then throw that piece in the garbage

• Next, you need to take off the under layer which you will take off the same way you did like the top layer
• Find where you stopped taping and pull on that all the way to the top
• Throw that piece in the garbage

• Find where you stopped taping
• Both of those layers that were on the side and on the top
• Throw them in the trash

• Find where you stopped taping
• Take that off all the way to the heel
• Throw that in the garbage

• Find the tape on the bottom edge and the tow
• Take it off pulling all the way to the end
• Throw it in the garbage
