How to Use Coffee Pods in a Regular Coffee Maker
Coffee pods are becoming increasingly popular these days because of how easy they are to use. Coffee pod machines are very easy to use, they are small which is why they fit in almost every kitchen and they're very easy to clean up.
But the hassle begins when your coffee pod machine stopped working so how do you make coffee with just the pods you ask?
If you have a regular coffee machine like these at products you can't refuse, with some tweaks it's possible to use your pods to make a cup of coffee with your regular coffee maker machine.
So let's find out how.
Size of the coffee pods:
Most common pods are around 62mm in size. Each pod holds on an average of 8 to 10 grams of coffee grounds. It could be more or it could be less but this is the average size.
Size of the coffee cups:
A cup of coffee needs 6 ounces of water before you start the brewing process. Consider adding more water and coffee grounds for bigger cups or mugs.
How much coffee ground needed?
You're going to need 10 grams of coffee to produce a good cup of coffee. You can try two cups for a stronger cup of coffee or a good mug of coffee. Do it on your own risk, who knows the experience may as well be rewarding.
The process:
Peel off the lid of the coffee pod and pour the grounds into your coffee maker. Placed the filter in the coffee maker along with the coffee grounds. If your coffee pods are 44 mm in size, remember that they hold about 7 grams of coffee grinds.
For a full-size cup of coffee use a full pod plus a quarter of a second pod. You can try two cups for a stronger flavor. Again, use with caution. Don't try two cups before bed or you may end up waking with an urge to pee.
Follow the rest of the standard coffee making procedure. Here's a good YouTube video that will teach you how to make your own coffee using a coffee maker, if you don't know how.
