Hydrosleeve : Your Eco Cooler
This is a diy method to keep your objects eatables and drinkables cool passively. By unknowningly using physics and concepts like cappilary action, termal conductivity and cooling effect of evaporation you keep your belongings cool.It is a ecofreindly ,carbon free, non electric and easy method ideal for hot summers ,power faliures, camping or living offgrid .This demonstration shows you the steps for a water bottle. :)
Supplies
what you need to get started is a nice cotton/linen cloth, container like bowl or plate to hold water ,and your desired object be it a box, a tubler, or a water bottle and optional instruments like thread and rubber bands and water
Preparation
take a clean bottle fill it with water then take the cotton fabric and moisten it up using tap water or a sprayer
The Cloth
fill your base container with water and wrap the wet peice of cloth around the bottle use ties, rubberbands or string if required
Cooling Setup
gentelly immerse the water bottle in the container make sure the damp cloth touches the water and preferably base of the container . the cloth now has as resevior of water ready.
Placing
keep the bottle in a ventilated area and let it stay for a while to cool. after an hour or so you get your chilled drinks ready. my setup dropped the temparature by 6 degrees from 32 to 26 degree celsius
TRY!!!
you can try it up on different object large and small from a silver glass to a large glass bowl you can even scale it up to make your own offgrid refrigirator!!! . Using highly thermal conductive materials gives the best results
