Keep Your Family's Schedule Up-to-date on Everybody's Phone!
If you're like me, you lead a very busy schedule, and need the best way to keep up with events such as doctor's appointments, special events, etc.
My wife keeps up with all of our appointments, and we used to run into situations where she forgot to tell me that I have an appointment until it's less than an hour away. Not anymore!!!
I now have our phones' calendars set up so that if she adds something to the schedule on her phone, it also shows up in mine, and vice versa!
This instructable will show you how you can do the same thing, absolutely free!

Overview
If you're anything like me, you keep a very busy schedule, as does your spouse! With the popularity of using smart phones for everything (including the dishes, with a smart dishwasher), having your schedule at your fingertips is something that most anyone would love to be able to do. But how do you and your spouse keep your calendars synchronized so you have both your schedule AND your spouse's schedule up-to-date at all times?
This instructable is going to show you how to do just that!

First Things First!
The first thing we need to do is to open a free Google GMail account with a user name you want to use specifically for your family calendar. Follow the necessary steps to ensure that the Calendar is enabled for this account. Do not give out the email address associated with this account, and don't send any emails from this account, either. Any test or welcome messages you receive from opening the account should be deleted.
Set Up Your Phones!
If you don't already have it installed on your devices, go to the App Store or Google Play to download and install Google Calendar on each device.
While setting up Google Calendar on each device, use the email address that you set up in the previous step.
Do NOT use any other data sources or accounts for this setup. Doing so would add that data to all devices as well.

The Big Set Up!
If you have another calendar app that you wish to import existing data from, go into the Google Calendar setup on one device and enable that account (strictly for the purpose of importing data), then sync your Google Calendar in order to receive the data.
Once you've imported that data, go back into the setup and disable that additional source. You should now (once again) only have the one account associated with your Google Calendar.

Sync! Sync! Sync!
On each device (starting with the one that has data), tell Google Calendar to SYNC NOW.
On some Android devices, it's possible to encounter an error message, when trying to sync, that involves being in Power Saver mode. This is usually in the Google Calendar setup. In order to keep your calendar up-to-date, you cannot use Power Saver mode.
In order to keep everything up-to-date, all of your devices should be set to sync automatically.
Once everything is set up, any time a new event is put into Google Calendar on any one device, that event should appear on all devices.
Good luck, and enjoy your new level of organization!
