Keep the Receipt and the Return Date Together

A receipt in Photos and a return deadline in your memory are easy to separate. This walkthrough puts the document, product details and dates in one purchase record. It uses StoreProof, a Stargap app for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Gather the Basics

Use one receipt photo or PDF, the retailer's return terms and a serial-number photo if relevant. The example shown is labelled DEMO DATA, not a real customer purchase.

Make One Purchase Record

Add the product name, store and purchase date. Use a name you would actually search for later, such as the model name rather than just "headphones".

Attach the Proof

Add the receipt file to that record. Open it again and check that the date and item are readable. Add the serial-number photo if you have one.

Add the Dates

Enter the return deadline from that retailer's terms and the warranty information that applies to the purchase. Don't assume every shop uses the same window. Set a reminder if you need one.

Try Finding It

Leave the record, search for the product, and reopen the receipt and dates. This is the useful final check: can you find everything without hunting through Photos and email?

A folder and calendar can do this too. StoreProof keeps the files and dates attached to the same item: https://storeproof.one/iod
