Knife Chandelier
What happens when you are blind and you think you saw knives on a chandelier only for it to be pretty beads? You end up thinking it is a good idea and make it with your friend. So join me in this weirdness.
Supplies
glass paint-crimson(optional for blood)
5 big wood handle knives(found at salvation army)
4 small wood handle knives(found at salvation army)
hot glue (optional for 3-D blood)
Dull the Knives
Use the sandpaper and rub down the blade's sharp edge until dull. Repeat this with all nine of the knives so they are safe to the touch.
(Optional Bloody Knives)
Apply glass paint to the top of the bade. Use up and down strokes to simulate blood. Do this to both sides and all of the knives.
Then apply the hot glue carefully to look like blood.
Paint over the hot glue to match the color.
Drill the Knives
Use an 8-bit drill bit to drill through the end of the handle. Make sure the knife is completely wooden and has no metal bit in the middle of it. Again all the knives need this.
Measure and Tape the Hoops
Tape 5 different markers on the big hoop. The space between each marker should be 1/5 of the circumference. For the 14-in hoop that is around 9.2 in.
For the smaller hoop, there are 4 markers. The space between each marker should be 1/4 of the circumference. For the 12-in hoop that is around 8.5 in.
Measure and Cut the Chain
There are 3 categories of what to with the available chain. For starters, you want to cut six links of a 12-inch chain to connect the rings. Secondly, you want to cut 9 links of 12.5-inch chains for the arches. Lastly, with the remainder of the chain, you need to cut 9 links of 4-inch chains to hang the knives.
Attaching Jump Rings Together and on Hoops
Use a pair of jewelry pliers to twist a jump ring and place two of the 12.5-inch link chains for the arches then attach them to the hoop and twist it closed. Repeat 5 times until they are all in a circle. You want to do the same thing on the smaller hoop only repeating it 4 times. Use the jewelry pliers to twist open the jump ring and place a pair of 12.5-inch with the smaller hoop and twist it closed.
Soldering the Rings(Death to Your Fingers Part 1)
Firstly, remove the tape from underneath the jump ring. Next, hold the ring in place and use the soldering stylus to melt the solder, and apply it to the jump ring till firm. Repeat this step process for every jump ring.
Hanging the Big Hoop
Use tape again to measure the space of 1/3 of the circumference of the big hoop. Once you have that down, attach the 12-inch chain with a jump ring to each taped area. After that, unite all three chains to the center with the keyring of the lobster clasp.
Soldering Again(Death to Your Fingers Part 2)
Firstly, remove the tape from underneath the jump ring. Next, hold the ring in place and use the soldering stylus to melt the solder, and apply it to the jump ring till firm. Repeat this step process for every jump ring.
Connecting the Two Hoops
Tape and measure 1/3 of both hoops and reverse the placement of the tape on the big hoop from two steps ago. Attach the 12-inch chain to each taped of the large hoop and use the ends to connect to the smaller hoop.
Soldering Rings Again(Death to Your Fingers Part 3)
Firstly, remove the tape from underneath the jump ring. Next, hold the ring in place and use the soldering stylus to melt the solder, and apply it to the jump ring till firm. Repeat this step process for every jump ring.
Tape and Placement of the 4-inch Chain on Both Hoops
You want to tape a spot midway between each arch on both hoops. Next, use the jumps rings to attach the 4-inch chain to let them dangle. Repeat until all arches have a small chain in between them on both hoops.

Firstly, remove the tape from underneath the jump ring. Next, hold the ring in place and use the soldering stylus to melt the solder, and apply it to the jump ring till firm. Repeat this step process for every jump ring.
Attaching the Jewels
Equally, space out 4 jewels on each arch and attach them with jump rings. Next, solder each ring close to ensure protection.
Attaching the Knives
Firstly, you want to eyeball the length of wire looped through the knife hole. Once estimated, cut it and solder the loop close to form a ring. Afterwards, you want to use a jump ring to attach the loop to the 4-inch chain dangle. Solder the jump ring close. Do the exact same thing for each knife and chain dangle till all knives have been hung.
