Laptop/Tablet Holder

Sometimes, I want to write notes on my iPad on a slanted angle instead of being flat on a table. A slanted angle just feels better. It fixes your posture because you have to look upwards instead of down at the table. I created this platform so that I can put my iPad AND my laptop on it. There is also a charging hole in case you want to put your phone at the center. You can also organize papers under the platform.

Notice the two protruding rectangles at the edge? They double as headphone holders or you can wrap your cables around the rectangles to manage them effectively.

Of course, this is just a prototype. I am open to suggestions; I AM A STUDENT

Supplies

PLA for prototype.

Wood or sturdy equivalent for the final product.

Getting the Base

Extrude an ellipse so that you create a sturdy base with a centralized point of gravity.

Platform

Extrude rectangular prisms like the one in the image. These prisms uphold the main "plane" of the holder. It is necessary to have supporting pillars in the four corners of your planned "plane".

Angle

Sketch an angled "plane" on top of your pillars, and extrude it. Then, extrude a barrier at the bottom of the "plane", which prevents the devices from falling off. Make sure there is a hole at the enter of the barrier, which allows or charging cables to pass through.

Print

3D print your prototype using PLA, and if your prototype is to your liking, then you can laser cut wood or metal to have something that you can use as a final product.
