Make a D.I.Y. Duct Tape Wallet

Good morning or afternoon or night or something! In this Instructables I will show you how to make a wallet out of duct tape. I've been wanting a normal wallet, but normal wallets are expensive, kind of plain, and who wants to be normal?

Supplies

  1. Cardboard (flap of a box)
  2. Duct Tape
  3. Packing Tape? (for labels and decorations)
  4. Scissors
  5. Ruler
  6. Pencil
  7. Imagination
  8. The ability to read
  9. The strength to cut cardboard

Getting Cardboard

Cut one of the flaps off of a cardboard box so that you can cut it more easily.

Cutting the Cardboard

Using the ruler and pencil, measure and mark every 3 inches on the side of the cardboard. It'll be more precise if you use the long side that you didn't cut.

Then from the bottom go up and mark at 3 1/4 of an inch on both sides to make it straight.

Now, draw a line connecting those two marks you just made.

On that new line, do the same thing you did on the bottom side: marking of every 3 inches.

Then connect those markings so it looks like the picture.

Next, cut along all the lines. You can toss away the smaller piece because we won't need it.

Connecting the Cardboard

Get 4 pieces of duct tape and tape the pieces of cardboard together. Leave the cardboard bits about 1/2 inch away from each other.

Taping the Outside

Get a piece of duct tape that's about twice as long as what you've already made (20 inches). Place it under everything else in the middle. Tape the shorter side of tape around first. Now tape the top side, then the bottom.

Big Flap

Get the same amount of tape from one part of the last step and fold it in half lengthwise. Then tape it to both ends of the wallet. Now get some more tape and roll it into double-sided tape. I'm now using packing tape because I ran out of duct tape. 10 yards of duct tape is enough to make 2 wallets. Roll up 2 pieces of tape and put them in between the folds of the wallet and the big flap. Then get tape the length of the wallet to seal the bottom of the flap.

Done!

You're done! If you want to, you can coat the wallet in packing tape.
