Making Vertical Miter Cuts or Flat Miter Cuts on Ceramic Tiles

The above picture on the left shows a vertical miter cut made on ceramic trim tiles. The picture on the right shows a flat miter cut, also made on ceramic trim tiles.

The video in STEP 1 shows how to make vertical miter cuts on ceramic tile trim using a bench sander and a wooden alignment jig.

The video in STEP 2 shows how to make flat miter cuts on ceramic tile trim using a carbide hacksaw blade and a simple wooden miter box.

I actually think this could probably be done freehand without the wooden alignment jig. But since it only took a couple of hours to make the wooden jig I went ahead and made it. Also, I think it might be possible to make vertical miter cuts with a hand-held belt sander instead of using a bench sander. I used my bench sander.

I see lots of videos that show people quickly mitering large tiles freehand with angle grinders. You might want to take a look at some of those.
