Preparing the Perfect Pie Dough
First, we need to prepare the dough. π₯§
For that, I take some flour into a bowl, then add a pinch of salt and a little sugar. After that, I mix in some butter and use a whisk to combine everything well until it becomes nicely blended. π§
Preparing the Perfect Pie Dough
Next, we slowly add cold water while mixing, until it comes together into a smooth dough.
Remember, the dough should not stick to your hands, so donβt add too much water. Add it little by little and keep mixing carefully. π§
In the end, it should look like a soft, smooth, and beautiful dough ball, just like the one shown in my photo. πβ¨ (Let the prepared dough rest for about 30 minutes before using it.)
Chicken Cooking
Next, clean the chicken thoroughly π§Ό and boil it well ππ₯. While boiling, add a pinch of salt π§ for flavor.
After itβs fully cooked, cut the chicken into small pieces βοΈπ΄.
Prepare the Filling
Now, letβs move on to making the filling for our pie.
First, I take the boiled potatoes that we prepared earlier and mash them well using a spatula until they become smooth and soft. π₯
Then, I add some chopped carrots and a handful of green peas, mixing everything together nicely. π₯π±
This combination creates a colorful, nutritious, and flavorful filling base for our delicious chicken pie. π
Prepare the Filling
Next, we add a little salt and some pepper to the mixture. Adjust the pepper according to your taste, but donβt add too much all at once add it gradually. πΆοΈ
Then, use a spatula to mix everything well so the flavors combine nicely. After that, take the chicken we cooked earlier, shred or cut it into small pieces, and add it into this mixture. π
Finally, mix everything together thoroughly until the chicken and the vegetables are well combined, creating a rich and flavorful filling for our pie. π
Onion & Chilli Tempering for Extra Flavor
Next, we prepare a simple onion chilli tempering to boost the flavor of our filling.
For that, I take a pan, add a little oil, and place it on the stove to heat up. π«π₯
Then, I add some chopped onions and sautΓ© them well until they become soft and slightly golden. π§
After that, I add chopped green chillies and let them fry lightly in the oil for a short time, releasing a nice aroma and spicy flavor. πΆοΈ
This tempering adds a rich, fragrant, and slightly spicy kick to our chicken pie filling. π
Perfect Golden Tempering Finish
As the onion and chilli tempering starts to fry nicely, I add a little salt and some crushed black pepper, then mix everything well. π§πΆοΈ
Let it cook until the onions turn a beautiful golden brown color and release a rich aroma. π
Once it reaches that perfect golden stage, turn off the stove and transfer the mixture into a bowl.
If you look at my photo, youβll see the final result a beautiful golden-colored tempering that looks just perfect! β¨π
Making Creamy White Sauce
Now letβs prepare the white sauce for our pie. π First, melt about 25g of butter π§ in a pan over low heat.
Once the butter melts, add 1 tablespoon of flour πΎ and stir continuously until it becomes a smooth paste and loses the raw flour smell.
Next, slowly pour in 1 cup of milk π₯ while stirring constantly. This helps prevent lumps and keeps the sauce smooth and creamy.
Keep mixing well until the sauce becomes thick, silky, and perfectly smooth!
Finishing the White Sauce
Next, we season the sauce by adding black pepper β« and a little garlic powder π§ according to your taste.
Keep the pan on low heat and continue stirring gently but continuously π₯π₯ so nothing sticks to the bottom.
As it cooks, the sauce will slowly become thick, smooth, and creamy π€ a perfect rich white sauce ready to be used in the pie filling. π
Bringing the Filling Together
Next, we add the prepared tempering onions into our filling mixture and mix everything well. π§
Then, add some of the white sauce we made earlier into the mixture.π₯£
After that, gently mix everything together until all the ingredients are evenly combined and the filling becomes creamy, rich, and perfectly blended. π
Now, our pie filling is coming together beautifully and is almost ready! πβ¨
Shaping the Dough Into Container
Next, we take the dough we prepared and roll it out nicely.
Roll it according to the size of your circular aluminium foil containers, making sure itβs not too thick or too thin.
Then, carefully place the rolled dough into the containers and press it gently so it fits nicely inside.
After placing it, use a fork to lightly poke the base. Donβt make too many holes just a few gentle pricks, like in my third photo. π΄
This helps the base stay even and bake properly, giving us a perfect pie crust. π₯§β¨
Filling & Sealing the Pie
Now we can carefully add the prepared filling into the dough-lined containers.
Make sure to fill it only up to a normal level, donβt overfill, because it may spill out while baking. ππ₯
After that, take another piece of the rolled dough and place it gently on top to cover the filling, just like in my second photo. π₯§
Once it is covered, press the edges together using a fork or your fingers to seal it properly. This step is very important so the filling stays inside while baking. π
If done correctly, it should look neat and nicely sealed, just like in my second image. β¨
Adding a Beautiful Decorative Touch
Now itβs time to make our pie look even more beautiful and special with a simple decoration. First, I take a small piece of the remaining dough and use a cookie cutter shaped like a little leaf πΏ.
Then, I gently cut out a few leaf shapes from the dough. πΏπ₯§
Decoration & Baking the Pie
Now I gently place the small leaf shaped dough decorations around the edges of the pie, arranging them neatly just like in my first photo. πΏπ₯§
After that, I take a little beaten egg wash and brush it on top of the pie. This helps the surface turn into a beautiful golden brown color while baking. π₯β¨
Then itβs time to bake! I place the pie in the oven at 180Β°C and bake it for about 45 minutes. π₯ While baking, the pie slowly turns into a golden, crispy, and delicious looking masterpiece. π
After baking, you can see in my fourth photo how it comes out beautifully. ππ₯§β¨
Maths Pi & Clock
Iβm using oil paper π§Ύ and marking the places where flowers πΈ should be placed and where the clock numbers β° should go.
Instead of a normal clock where we use 12 numbers, I have designed it using 2Ο (pi) values Οπ around the clock face.
π The reason I use Ο numbers is because a clock is directly connected to a circle π΅, and Ο represents the relationship between a circleβs circumference and diameter. So using Ο makes the design more mathematical, creative, and meaningful β¨ instead of just using normal numbers.
Next, I use the remaining dough to cut out small star shapes β using a cookie cutter. I plan to use them as a decoration around the edges, giving the pie a more beautiful and finished bakery style look π₯§β¨a
Adding the Decorative Center
Next, I place the star shaped dough decorations I made earlier around the edge of the pie. βπ₯§
In the center, I carefully add the prepared round dough ring, shaped like a perfect 2Ο circle (from the math idea I made earlier π)
It makes the pie look a bit playful like a βmath pie inside a real pieβ concept! π₯§βπ
After arranging everything nicely, I bake the decorated top layer separately at 150Β°C for about 10 minutes, just until it turns a light golden color. β¨
Once itβs ready, I gently place this beautiful baked top layer onto the main pie. The result is a unique, creative, and golden looking pie that combines food with a little bit of math art simple but very eye catching. ππ₯§
Golden Chicken Pie Final Look & Taste Finish
After baking, the pie comes out as a beautiful golden brown masterpiece π₯§β¨ perfectly crisp on the outside and rich inside.
To finish it, I added a light touch of red sauce decoration, drawing small soft lines around the pie like a delicate garnish. π β¨ In the center, I gently placed tiny star-like dots, adding a subtle and elegant pattern without over decorating it. βπ₯§
I didnβt want to overdo it just kept it simple, clean, and visually appealing.
The final result is a pie that looks warm, inviting, and full of flavorcrispy layers outside and a delicious, juicy filling inside that melts in every bite. π€€π₯
Honestly, it feels like a pie made with love something that really brings a smile even before tasting it. π
