NYC & Montauk-Based Space Program With Offshore Montauk Launch Complex (Plans)

Plans for a NYC-based space program with a Montauk Offshore Launch Complex.

1. Montauk Launch Complex will consist of: Support Platform, Launch Platform and Solid Rocket Fuel Storage platform
2. Launch Complex will be located 10 nautical miles southeast of Montauk Point at the eastern end of Long Island.
3. Primary Supply Depot will be located at South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in NYC.
4. Main supply route will be via coastal cargo boats running from NYC to the Platforms.
5. Air connections to the Support Platform will be primarily by gyroplane, either from East Hampton Airport or LaGuardia Airport in NYC.
6. Workers and light cargo can be brought to the Platforms from Montauk Harbor, 10 nautical miles away either via crew transfer boats and/or existing ships operating out of the Harbor, such as Viking Fleet.
7. Rockets will be powered via solid rocket fuel, eliminating the need for infrastructure to store liquid oxygen, methane and hydrogen.

1. The location of the Launch Platform will allow for 3 launch azimuths:
2. Directly east at an azimuth of 90 degrees, leading to a 41-degree orbital inclination
3. Southeast at an azimuth of 135 degrees, leading to a 58-degree orbital inclination
4. South at an azimuth of 180 degrees, leading to a 90-degree orbital inclination, also known as a Polar Orbit.
