Today, I’m going to create a beautiful handmade necklace ✨ and as you might already know, I’ll be using seashells 🐚.

What I really wanted was to capture the natural colors of the ocean 🌊 that calming deep blue, along with the soft white clouds in the sky ☁️. Using these simple and natural tones, I’m going to design the overall color theme of my necklace.

Of course, you can always experiment with different color themes 🎨 if you like this idea is super flexible! With just a few simple materials, let’s see how we can create a unique and elegant seashell necklace πŸ’™

No more talking let’s get started! πŸš€

Alright, first things first, we need to head to the beach and collect some seashells 🐚🌊

Since I live in a city that’s very close to the ocean, this part was super easy for me 😊 I’m sure you can also gather some seashells without much trouble!

When you visit the beach, you’ll find plenty of seashells scattered along the shore 🌴✨. While collecting them, try to be a little selective. Pick shells that have a similar shape and are close in size so your necklace will look more balanced and beautiful πŸ’™

Selecting & Planning

20260413_082703.jpg
20260413_082954.jpg

Alright, I collected a full cup of seashells 🐚 and brought them home. Then I washed them all carefully to remove any sand and dirt ✨

From those, I selected a few shells that had a nice appearance and were similar in size to use for making the necklace πŸ’™

In my first photo, you can see how I’ve arranged the shells by size order, I picked both slightly larger ones and smaller ones to create a more natural look 🌊 And as shown in the second photo, the next step I did was to place the seashells on a table and plan the design before actually making the necklace 🎨

If you have a different idea or pattern, feel free to try it your way! But I felt this layout looked the most balanced and beautiful ✨

Creating the Seashell Flower Centerpiece

20260413_085546.jpg
20260413_085504.jpg

The necklace I planned to make has three main parts ✨

  1. The centerpiece flower made from seashells 🌸🐚
  2. The side supports that hold and connect to the flower πŸ”—
  3. The beaded strands that carry and secure the whole design πŸ’Ž

So first, I’m starting with the main flower part 🌸

To create this, I took five of the larger seashells I selected earlier and arranged them in a circular shape. Then, I carefully applied super glue to the points where each shell touches and gently fixed them together 🀏✨ (Photo 1)

Since super glue dries very quickly, be a bit careful while handling it. It’s better to do this on a flat surface like a desk and avoid getting it on your hands ⚠️

In my second photo, you can see how it looks once everything is attached. It forms a beautiful flower shape, with a star like gap in the center, giving it a really unique and elegant look πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

After that, I took five smaller seashells 🐚 and placed them on top of the large seashell flower we just made, just to check how it looks and fits together ✨

At this stage, I’m only testing the arrangement to see if it looks nice and balanced πŸ’™ But remember this clearly, I’m not going to glue them yet ❗

Seashell Flower Coloring Process

20260413_094514(0).jpg
20260413_094641.jpg
20260413_094736.jpg

Alright, now I’m moving on to coloring the main seashell flower 🎨🐚

For this, I chose white and deep blue shades πŸ’™πŸ€ to match that ocean and sky theme 🌊☁️

First, I painted a blue outline along the edges of the flower to give it a nice definition (Photo 2) ✨

Then, I added white color to the top/front area of the flower, making it slightly more prominent (Photo 3) 🀍

After that, I wanted to create a smooth gradient effect, so I mixed blue and white together and carefully blended it towards the center. This created a soft light blue transition, giving the flower a natural ocean inspired look (Photo 4) πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

Adding the Final Seashell Layers

20260413_094926.jpg
20260413_100936.jpg
20260413_102451.jpg
20260413_102611.jpg

Just like in the previous step, I painted the remaining seashells of the flower in the same style 🎨🐚 (Photo 2)

When everything was colored, it looked really beautiful ✨ to me, it honestly felt like ocean waves 🌊. The white parts especially look like sea foam hitting the waves, which gives a very natural and calming vibe πŸ’™

Alright, now moving to the next step. Remember how we earlier placed the small seashells on top just to check the design? Now it’s time to fix them in place

So, I carefully placed the smaller shells on top of the painted flower and used super glue to attach them properly (Photo 3 & 4) 🀏✨

One important thing here, I didn’t paint the small seashells. I wanted to keep their natural Yellow white color, so it adds a nice contrast and keeps that authentic seashell look 🀍🐚

Designing the Golden Bead Center Ring

20260413_111445.jpg

Now I’m going to make the seashell flower even more beautiful by adding a decorative center piece 🌸✨ To do this, I’m filling the middle empty space of the flower with small beads πŸ’Ž

First, I took a clear nylon thread and started stringing tiny golden beads onto it ✨ Then I shaped it into a perfect circle and secured the two ends together using a small piece of copper wire πŸ”—

Center Decoration and Side Shell Color Design

20260413_111547.jpg
20260413_111755.jpg
20260413_115244i.jpg

After that, I carefully placed the gold bead circle right in the center of the seashell flower πŸ’›πŸš and fixed it in place using glue ✨ This added a really elegant and premium touch to the design, making the center stand out beautifully 🌸 To make it even more complete, I added a larger white bead right in the middle of the gold circle 🀍

This final detail really enhanced the whole necklace, giving it a perfect balance of white and gold tones and completing the seashell flower design beautifully πŸŒŠπŸ’™

Next, I worked on the side support seashells that will attach to the main flower 🌸🐚 I selected two seashell groups for both sides and painted them using a gradient color style πŸŽ¨πŸ’™

Each piece transitions from deep dark blue, to light blue, and finally into white 🀍 This creates a smooth fading effect that matches the ocean theme 🌊✨ (Photo 3)

You can also notice the size arrangement I followed carefully. The dark blue shells are the largest, and as the color lightens, the shell sizes gradually become smaller, creating a natural flow and balance in the design πŸ“πŸš

Turning the Seashell Flower Into a Necklace

20260413_131551.jpg
20260413_133147.jpg
20260413_134927.jpg

Finally, since the seashell flower turned out really beautiful 🌸🐚, the last step is to connect it into a necklace form πŸ’›βœ¨

For this, I used two gold open jump rings and attached them on both sides of the flower πŸ”— (Photo 2) If you want, you can also drill a small hole in the shell for a stronger connection. but I chose to attach from glue instead 😊

After securing the jump rings, I attached two clear nylon threads to both sides (Photo 3). (I used a clear nylon thread loop)

Adding Beads and Side Support Assembly

20260413_135227.jpg
20260413_140130.jpg
20260413_140937.jpg

After that, I started adding beads onto the clear nylon thread πŸ’›βœ¨

On both sides, I arranged a pattern of gold beads, white beads, and again gold beads, creating a nice balanced sequence πŸŽ¨πŸ’Ž

Next, I attached the dark blue side support seashell pieces that I prepared earlier 🌌🐚 (Photo 3)

I carefully glued them onto both sides of the flower so they connect smoothly with the overall structure, making the design feel more complete and stable ✨

Connecting Floating Side Shell Elements

20260413_141803.jpg
20260413_142444.jpg

Next, I’m connecting the light blue seashell pieces πŸ’™πŸš

I didn’t want to attach them directly to the main flower because I wanted them to have a bit of natural movement, so I decided to connect them to the nylon thread instead ✨

First, I fixed a gold bead onto the head section of the seashell using super glue πŸ’› After that, I placed a white bead on top of the gold bead to create a clean layered finish 🀍 (Photo 1 & 2)

Finally, I used a gold open jump ring and attached it through the white bead, then connected it to the nylon thread πŸ”— (Photo 3 & 4)

This setup allows the seashell pieces to move gently and naturally, giving the necklace a more alive, elegant, and flowing ocean like feel 🌊✨

Secure Jump Ring Connection Process

20260413_143435.jpg
20260413_143443.jpg
20260413_143550.jpg

Now I’m attaching the light blue seashell piece to the nylon thread πŸ’™πŸš

As I mentioned before, I used a nylon loop. First, I took a gold open jump ring and carefully passed it through the nylon thread loop πŸ”— (Photo 1 & 2)

In the final step, you can clearly see the finished attachment in Photo 3. it holds well, moves freely, and looks clean and elegant 🌊🀍

Continuing the Necklace Side Assembly Process

20260413_145330.jpg
20260413_151013.jpg
20260413_151348.jpg

Next, I continued with attaching the white and blue seashell pieces πŸ’™πŸ€ using the same method from the previous step 10 ✨

I connected everything to the nylon thread loop, just like before 🧡 (Step 11)

Before fixing it into place, I made sure to follow the same pattern as earlier, I added a gold bead, a white bead, and another gold bead in sequence πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ’›, and then attached the side support seashell pieces through the structure (Photo 2)

After that, I took four small unpainted seashells 🐚 and carefully attached them in the middle section of the side supports. This helped to fill the design and create a more complete and balanced lower structure of the necklace ✨ (Photo 3 & 4)

This step really improved the overall look, making the necklace feel more full, detailed, and naturally layered. 🌊🀍

Seashell Necklace Final Styling Touch

20260413_152436.jpg
20260413_153629.jpg

Now I’m adding the final finishing touch to the necklace ✨🐚

To complete the design, I used a butterfly charm πŸ¦‹ to bring a soft and elegant final detail. If you prefer, you can also use any other charm that matches your style πŸ’›

I attached the butterfly charm to the seashell flower using three gold open jump rings πŸ”— so it hangs like a small dangling element. This setup also allows the charm to have a gentle natural movement, making the design feel more alive and dynamic 🌊✨

On the last ring, I added a gold bead πŸ’›, which I then used as the final connection point to attach it to the corner of the seashell flower (Photo 3)

Seashell Necklace Final Styling Touch

20260413_153858.jpg
20260413_155248.jpg
20260413_160506.jpg

After that, I used Drop Shape Pearl Beads 🀍✨ and created elegant dangling pearl drops for the finishing detail of the necklace 🌸🐚

For each pearl drop, I used three gold open jump rings πŸ”— to build a small hanging structure, giving it a soft and graceful movement πŸ’› In total, I made four pearl drops 🀍🀍🀍🀍

As shown in Photo 3, I attached two pearl drops on each side, balancing both sides of the necklace evenly ✨

Now the lower section of the necklace is completely finished, and the overall look has become much more refined, elegant, and visually balanced πŸŒŠπŸ’Ž

Building a Comfortable Fit for the Necklace

20260413_161053.jpg
20260413_162314.jpg

Now for the final step, I’m working on the upper part of the necklace, which is the section that goes around the neck 🌸✨

First, I added three small white beads on both sides 🀍🀍🀍 as the starting base. These help create a clean and balanced transition from the main design to the necklace strap 🐚

After that, I filled both sides with larger beads on the clear nylon thread πŸ’Ž, keeping the design consistent and strong while making sure it looks elegant and comfortable to wear ✨

At this stage, you can adjust the length of the necklace based on your neck size. πŸ“ Simply continue adding beads until you reach the perfect fit, so it sits nicely and comfortably when worn 🀍

Completing the Necklace With Professional Finish

20260413_162722.jpg
20260413_162735(0).jpg

Finally, after adding beads to both sides in the correct length, I completed the necklace by closing the ends of the clear nylon thread πŸ”—βœ¨

To secure it properly, I attached a gold lobster clasp on one end πŸ’› On the other end, I fixed a gold open jump ring ✨

Using this clasp and ring system, the necklace can now be easily worn around the neck and securely locked in place once worn 🐚🀍

This is the final look of the beautiful seashell necklace I made 🌊🐚✨

I truly feel like I was able to create a complete sea themed design πŸ’™ inspired by the blue ocean, white waves, and natural coastal beauty 🌊🀍

When I wear it with a blue outfit, it gives an even more elegant and natural look, just like carrying a piece of the sea itself 🌸✨ Honestly, every time I look at it, it reminds me of the sound of waves and the calm feeling of the ocean breeze πŸŒŠπŸ’›
