Fold over the dotted line until Side A and Side B meet.

Step 2

Fold over dotted line like so. Unfold and re-fold it so the flap is on the back. Repeat a couple of times.

Step 3-6

Tear the flap off (you can lick or put water along the crease to make this easier), then fold and re-fold the square until you have creases according to the dotted lines.

Step 7-8

Using your thumb, push the corners of the triangle towards the center crease. They should easily turn inside out, and the result should be a diamond with three layers.

Step 9-10

Fold the edges of the top layer towards the center as shown. Flip over and repeat with the bottom layer. You should now have a skinny diamond.

Step 11-12

Now, here comes the hard part: Unfold the inside of the folded flaps and fold the flap up along the horizontal crease. Now, fold the edges toward the center again. Flip over and repeat.

Step 13-15

Flip the diamond onto its side. Using your thumb, push one half of the split bottom up. It should easily turn inside out. Repeat with the other half, then repeat a third time at the end of the new triangle of your choice. You now have a head and tail!

Step 16-17

Gently push the triangles down to make wings. Congrats, you now have a crane! If you did it correctly, the wings should flap when you pull the tail.
