Paper Beyblade X 3on3 Deck Case

This is a glueless paper 3on3 Deck Case for Beyblade X. It uses 3 sheets of 8.5" x 11" Cardstock paper. Unlike the official boxes, this box holds the Beys by their ratchet. It is recommended to have a cutting machine, but it was designed to be printable. This should be cheaper than 3D printing one.

Maximum Bey size: 4.5cm Height 5.5cm Diameter.

Use scissors, a hobby knife, and a cutting mat to cut the outline of the inserts. Cut out the circles and rounded rectangles. See following step for scoring lines. It takes 40+ minutes to cut everything.

Assembling the Insert

IMG_5302.JPG

Unfold the end tabs of the insert. Place tabs into the slots on the inner wall. This step is difficult. The best way is to insert the tab at an angle to get one corner in. Once it is in, push the tab towards its side so it pivots on the slot. This should make it easier to rotate and slide in the remaining corner of the tab. Once both tabs are in, recenter the insert to lock it in.

Position Wall Tab Into Insert Slots

Use the same technique as the previous step if needed.

Place Small Insert

IMG_5305.JPG
IMG_5306.JPG

Place small insert in the middle. Its tabs should be oriented facing the left and right of the box. This supports the middle Bey.

Attaching to Box

The tabs should be able to slide in easily

Fold Box Slots Into Walls

Congratulations! Thank you for trying this project out! It took me over 10 hours to design and prototype! Have Fun!

Advanced: Custom Designs

The drawings of this project are centered, so a custom design can be printed on the box.

Use an editing software to create a custom design using the box svg/pdf. Add bleeding lines in case of misalignment. Print on cardstock using any 8.5" x 11" printer.

Using Cricut Design Space:

  1. Upload SVG
  2. Delete white bounding box and the top, right, and bottom outline lines.
  3. Resize the left outline line to be shorter than the design.
  4. Turn the left outline line to draw

This left line becomes the top left corner of the paper

When cutting using the machine:

  1. Use 12x12 size even though an 8.5" x 11" paper is used
  2. Align top corner with a box 1 inch away from the top and 1 inch away from the left side
  3. If not possible, align with 1/2 inch way from top left corner
  4. Place the cardstock in the same corner and orientation.
  5. Leave out the pen during the drawing operation
  6. Proceed with cutting

Have fun making your own designs!
