Perfect Bubble Blower!

This all started watching one of those blooper videos of a Grandmother losing her false teeth trying to blow bubbles with her granddaughter. Neither one was having any luck. It got me thinking, and fiddling around with an idea of making a bubble blower anyone can use regardless of age or ability...because everyone loves bubbles! So I started sketching ideas.

I came up with the idea to make a fully 3D printed bubble blower. Then I saw an old episode of the 1960's Batman TV show with the Penguin. His Iconic long cigarette holder got me thinking. I decided to add a straw to my design. Makes it easier to dip, hold and blow, even for those with mobility issues.

I took my idea and refined it in Fusion 360. I eventually came up with 2 designs. The goal was to be able to use drink straws of multiple sizes. I accomplished this by stepping the interior based on common straw sizes. I kept the long tube design because I liked my original idea, but made a shorter one too that prints a little quicker.

Off to the printer! I printed these in PLA because I print all my prototypes in PLA. Its cheap quick and easily forgiving.

They worked! I was surprised they worked so well right off the printer that I giggled.

I tested with straws from local convenience stores and various fast food restaurants and they all seem to fit the stepped interior.
