Phone/Air Pods Charging Port
Hello! I made a portable charging port for your phone and AirPods. I used an old shoebox, some leftover black paper, and some used glue. It can be used to charge your phone or AirPods while they are sitting on it. I will show you how to turn an old shoebox and some paper into a little charging port to set your phone on. I also used some empty paper towel rolls to store your tangled chargers and charging bricks. I hope you enjoy these pictures showing the step-by-step process!
Supplies
- An old shoebox
- Black construction paper
- Old Elmer’s glue
- Tape
- Some scrap cardboard
- Additional: Empty toilet paper rolls
Making the Sliders
First, you have to cut out the sliders and make sure to measure them, so they aren't too loose and don't fall out. Then, after you cut them out, make sure to put some decorative paper on them so they look good! Now, glue them down and wait a little while for them to dry.
Cutting the Holes
Next, you would want to cut three holes on the bottom and the back. Make sure they are evenly distributed so a phone can fit in each spot. Also, make sure they are big enough for a phone cord to fit through. Don’t make the holes too far to either side so that your phone isn’t lying flat.
Making It Look Good
You always have to have decorations, right? Well, this is what this step is all about. Basically, get your paper and glue it all around the bottom of the box, the inside, and all around the sides. This is optional, but don’t glue the paper on the top because you’re going to cut that out later. And since you already glued it onto the sliders, you don’t have to do it again. But make sure to measure everything carefully.
Trimming It Up
Just to make it look extra good, cut the top off so that it doesn’t bother you at all. Trust me, it helps! Also, if you want to, you can cut off the extra pieces on the sides too.
Finishing Touches
Finally, add a toilet paper roll to each section so you can store your chargers, charging bricks, and more. Next, add the name to it. I named mine “Charge Hub.” Last but not least, if there is any paper sticking out, go ahead and cut it off. If there is any extra glue sitting there, let it dry or carefully remove it. Now you’re done!
Testing It Out
Go ahead and put your phone on it, plug it in, and start charging!
