Rainbow Flower Necklace 🌈🌺

This necklace is a tribute to the meeting of light and color. Inspired by the goddess who wove bridges across the sky to unite worlds, I wanted to highlight the colors of the rainbow and all its magic in a flower-shaped necklace.

The design of this necklace is meant to be worn in as many different ways as you like.

1. Materials
2. Rainbow-colored seed beads (purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red)
3. Jewelry wire
4. White pearls

1. To start, cut 65 cm of jewelry wire.

:String the initial sequence of seed beads that will form the center of the petal (starting with warm tones such as red, orange, and yellow). The sequence is as follows:

1. 1 red seed bead
2. 4 orange seed beads
3. 3 yellow seed beads

After arranging the first sequence of seed beads, leave about 3 cm of wire at the top; using round-nose pliers, form a small loop right next to the last bead by twisting the wire around itself. This acts as a stopper to keep the beads from sliding off. Repeat the process at the bottom: bend the base wire upward and create another loop tight against the base of the petal, twisting the wire to secure the beads at the lower end. Leave approximately 10 cm of wire and fold it back on itself to form a 5 cm length; this section will be used to secure the wraps of each petal, as shown in the following steps.

Next, thread the color sequence for the first side of the flower onto the working wire, as follows:

1. 1 red seed bead
2. 4 orange seed beads
3. 5 yellow seed beads
4. 1 green seed bead.

Bring the wire with the beads up to the top of the central stem and wrap it firmly around the stem to secure the first loop. Reload the wire with the bead sequence (red, orange, yellow, green) to complete the opposite side of the petal.

Secure the end by wrapping the wire around the central axis. This secures the first layer.

The arrangement for the following sequences will be as follows:

1. 1 red seed bead
2. 5 orange seed beads
3. 3 yellow seed beads
4. 5 green seed

beads After inserting the sequence for the third line, proceed with the same step used for the previous line: bring the beads to the top and secure them with a tight wrap. Then, insert the bead sequence again, this time reversing the order—from bottom to top—as follows: 5 green seed beads 3 yellow seed beads 5 orange seed beads 1 red seed bead Next, wrap the thread around the bottom to secure the beads before continuing with the sequence for line 4.

Introducing the blue tone In this step, we begin the fourth row of the beadwork by adding a new color to the gradient: Ascending sequence (bottom to top): String the seed beads onto the working wire in the following order:

1. 3 red seed beads
2. 5 orange seed beads
3. 5 yellow seed beads
4. 4 green seed beads
5. 4 light blue

seed beads Securing at the top end: Bring the wire up to the top, wrapping it around the previous shape, and make a firm turn around the central axis to secure the curve in place.

Since this is a wider loop, ensure the seed beads sit snugly against the previous layer before making the securing turn to avoid leaving gaps where the wire is exposed.

In this step, we will add the color purple. For this fifth line, thread the following sequence onto the working wire:

1. 4 red seed beads
2. 4 orange seed beads
3. 3 yellow seed beads
4. 5 green seed beads
5. 6 blue seed beads
6. 3 purple seed beads

Then, bring the wire up to the top point, adjust it snugly against the contour of line 4, and wrap it firmly around the central axis to secure the shape.

For this sequence, the arrangement will be as follows:

1. 5 red seed beads
2. 5 orange seed beads
3. 3 yellow seed beads
4. 3 green seed beads
5. 5 blue seed beads
6. 8 purple seed beads

and repeat the same steps as before.

For the final row, the sequence will be as follows:

1. 5 red seed beads
2. 4 orange seed beads
3. 4 yellow seed beads
4. 5 green seed beads
5. 7 blue seed beads
6. 8 purple seed beads

We will follow the same process as before, but since this is the final sequence, we will wrap the wire around the bottom section twice to ensure it is securely fastened, and finally, trim off the excess.

Make 5 petals to form a flower

Begin stringing the seed beads following your desired color pattern. I was inspired by a rainbow gradient: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

Continue until you reach the desired total length. In this case, the strand ended up being 1.60 cm long. Use this measurement to allow you to wrap and wear the necklace in different ways.

When you reach the hanging ends of the necklace, add any decorative elements you like. I used white pearls, gold beads, Murano glass, and a gold charm at the end.

Tie a secure knot and gently heat the ends.

Gather your rainbow petals and make sure they are aligned and ready to be joined. Hold all the petals together as if they were a small bouquet; it is important to hold the woven section firmly. Ensure that all the base wires are twisted together to form a single, twisted stem. By twisting the base wires tightly, you secure all the petals in place. Finally, gently spread the petals outward with your fingers. As you shape each petal individually, you transform the tight "bud" into a vibrant, open flower full of life. Now you can see your rainbow flower.

Thread a bead onto the wire and position it a few centimeters from the top end. Twisted section Bend the wire over the bead and twist it firmly onto itself for a few millimeters to secure the bead in place and create the first branch. Add a second bead to the long end of the wire, leaving a small gap, and twist it in the same way. Creating branches Continue adding more beads at various heights. Join the wires by twisting them together—using flat-nose pliers—to maintain a firm, unified structure. Twist the remaining wire at the base to form a single central stem. The result is a small cluster or organic-style beaded pistil, ready to be inserted into the center of the flower.

Gather the bottom wires of all the finished petals in the center and twist them tightly downwards to reinforce the flower's structure.

Using round-nose pliers, take the excess twisted wire, form a small loop at the back base of the flower, and secure it by wrapping it a couple of times around the base. Cut off the excess wire and flatten the end with the pliers to prevent it from pricking or snagging.

Pass the beaded strand through the wire loop you just created at the back of the flower. Slide it onto one end and adjust it 16 cm upwards. You can leave it higher if you wish, but not in the middle of the strand. The idea is for it to be at one end so that the remaining strand can be wrapped around the neck and positioned in various ways.

This way you'll have a beautiful flower necklace inspired by the rainbow and all its colors.
