SUBWAY VINIL WRAPPING
Anniversary of the inauguration of the city's subway system
Typography, colors and materials
To choose the most suitable typography we have to study two factors, on the one hand the corporate image of the transport entity and on the other hand we have to see that it is technically feasible.
Regarding the corporate image of TMB, our client is flexible, since it is a question of a campaign or punctual intervention and of a specific duration, it gives us freedom as long as it has a certain consistency with the message to share and the historical corporate image of the transport entity.
Regarding the technical limitations, as we use vinyl carving, the limitations are determined by the complexity of the carving, the design and the limit of 2 millimeters of margins.
Taking into account all of the above, we have opted for the Helvetica typeface with the Black and regular weight for contrast. Regarding the color, the range of colors available to the vinyl material is the whole range of pantone colors, we will use white, black and corporate green.

Manufacturing, carving and materials
Given the dimensions of the filling, it would not make sense to carry out this project with a DIN-A4 format vinyl carving machine. That is why we have looked for a supplier that allows us to carve vinyl sheets with a width of 1.5 meters and up to 10 meters long. This makes it easier for us to carve horizontally or vertically, but a lot of overlapping is avoided.
The material that we will use for the vinyls on glass is a micro-perforated adhesive vinyl 'oneway', that allows to see through it and does not substantially impair the visibility of public transport users.
Mistakes and improvements
One of the mistakes we have made and solved has been to try to take advantage of the large size of the vinyl to include more than one design and thus optimize the price. We have learned that the minimum space is minimal and that in reality this greatly complicates the assembly and storage of the vinyls.
