The Tri-Angular - a Portable and Self-Sustaining Folding House
Current times and overpopulation are forcing us to reimagine the way we live. Climates are changing, and in some cases, humans have become nomads due to high housing prices. Today, I want to present a house designed for this self-sustaining lifestyle.
But in addition to that, it's a house that can be disassembled and taken to any place where there is adequate space for its assembly.
a portable and economical solution for modern times.
Supplies
Template
Scissors
Glue
Cutter
2 Transparent PVC Plastic Sheet. (transparent acetate film)
3D Design
For the design, I focused on a triangular and minimalist style.
But it's modifiable; it's not just about a house with a triangular shape. The idea is that the entire interior is governed by triangles and maintains a geometric aesthetic while also being modern, functional and self-sustaining.
And it is also foldable for relocation purposes.
Triangles, Triangles, and More Triangles
I started with a triangular structure, making some internal divisions following the triangular harmony that will later serve for the water tank and the level of the second floor
Then at the back you can see how I placed the stairs and below them the bathroom, which will be connected to the water tank located in the central part. I added a sleeping space on the upper level plus a television for entertainment, which will run on solar panels that will be located later in the side windows.
Windows
I've always thought that a house should be well-lit to enjoy the daytime and the view, so I incorporated giant front windows into my design, which let in plenty of sunlight during the day, and retractable side windows on the second floor to maintain airflow and keep the house cool.
Physical Design
Okay, but now we'll move on to the physical design. In my case, I can't make it to scale, but if you follow the process outlined in this instructable, you can make the triangular house with whatever materials you want or that fit your budget.
Cut Pieces
Cut out each part for assembly; the window parts should be printed on adhesive paper, as they will be glued to the plexiglass.
I recommend printing the other parts on hard paper with a minimum thickness of 180g.
Frontal and Back Windows
Glue the window templates directly onto the transparent sheet and then cut out each piece. Remember that the window parts are repeated as they are for the front and back of the house.
The triangles that remain loose correspond to the retractable windows on the second floor
Triangular Base
Cut out the parts of the triangular base of the house, the inner part and the windows as indicated in this step; if you can join them, join them all at once as shown in the images.
After that, make the necessary folds to achieve the triangular shape.
Center and Second FLoor
The central part is like the main column of the house; it will provide stability, and the water tank will be installed inside. This water can be treated rainwater, depending on the water filter you install in the water tank.
Rainwater can be collected through a classic pipe system, taking advantage of the upper windows.
Upper Side Windows
These windows are an addition to the house design; they are removable, but not mandatory, although their function is to support larger solar panels on each side. An opening can also be made at the top to function as a skylight.
Stairs
Internal stairs and bathroom; the bathroom is located under the stairs and connects directly to the water tank located in the center of the house. The bathroom door is triangular and sliding, and it passes through the entire house when it opens and closes when the bathroom is in use.
Conclusion:
Conclusion:
This house is functional for nomadic people, estate or properties that need guest accommodation, temporary shelters after a weather disaster, and even for a large meeting or concert that requires temporary lodging, since it can be easily dismantled.
and according to the distribution of the second floor; It can accommodate up to 3 people.
It's an attractive and modern design that will add a special touch to your life.
You can remove or add windows.
You can place the main door of the house on the right or left side according to your preference
You can also add an external floor to the sides and customize the design.
It all depends on the materials you use, from modular concrete panels and galvanized steel structures to aluminum panels, treated wood, or WPC (wood composite) panels.
Thank you for viewing my project.
