This design pairs a bold, fluidly sculpted thick metal wave with an intricate, segmented

vertical chain. Perfect for makers looking to experiment with varied wire

gauges, structural shaping, and delicate assembly work, this clean guide will take you step-by-step from raw

metal wires to a polished pair of statement earrings.

MATERIALS:

Thick Golden Wire: Used to form the rigid, structural wave axis (approx. 8 cm per earring).

Thin Golden Wire: Used for threading and securing the bead clusters inside the chain.

Gold Chain: Cut into distinct segment lengths to hold the bead clusters cleanly.

Beads: 14 pieces in total (7 beads per earring) to create split accent clusters.

Gold Earring Hooks: 1 pair of classic fishhook ear wires.

TOOLS:

Pliers: Essential for bending the thick wire curves, rolling clean loops, and closing connections

securely.

SHAPING THE RIGID WIRE WAVE

• Cut & Form: Measure and cut an 8 cm piece of the thick golden wire. Carefully manipulate it into a smooth,

elegant sinusoidal wave pattern as shown in the layout.

• Top Loop: Use the round-nose section of your pliers to roll a clean, secure loop at the very top of your

shaped wire wave.

ASSEMBLING THE BOTTOM CHAIN & BEAD CLUSTER

Cut Lower Chain: Count and cleanly cut a piece of gold chain exactly 5 loops long.

• Thread Lower Beads: Insert a small piece of thin golden wire through the bottom-most loop of this 5-link

chain segment. Thread 3 beads onto the thin wire.

COMPLETING THE UPPER CHAIN SEGMENT

. Add Upper Chain: Count and cut a longer piece of chain exactly 9 loops long. Hook its bottom end onto the

same thin wire structural axis just above your lower cluster.

• Thread Upper Beads: Guide the thin wire upward through this 9-loop chain segment, then thread your

remaining 4 beads onto the wire.

• Lock and Trim: Clip away any excess thin wire using your cutters, leaving just enough length to bend and

roll a tight loop at the base. This locks the entire 7-bead and split-chain assembly together so nothing slips

out.

FINAL ASSEMBLY & MOUNTING

• Connect to Hook: Take the very top link of your completed bead-and-chain strand and attach it securely to

the same earring hook loop holding your thick wave wire.

• Align and Mirror: Let the chain fall straight down adjacent to the wave wire axis to verify the spacing.

Repeat the exact sequence to finish your matching second earring!
