I have had small solar panels for many years. These panels have done good service generating power to charge several different battery packs. One was an air compressor, jump starter and a 12 volt power supply w/ USB. My most resent battery pack (you might call it a hackery) is lithium, light as feather.

My panels have many hours around the camp supplying small electrical loads. Whether camping out of the back of my truck or at our little remote trailer. (a 1971 Cardinal Deluxe). I can power small and quiet entertainment devices or power tools. I also use it to help keep an camping trailer battery top off when dry camping. I have found that it will not recharge the bigger battery unless I keep it in full sun for a day or two. Moving the panel so it get the best sun throughout the day is the way we do it on the range.
