This is about songwriting. Songwriting means writing songs. All the songs that you hear today have efforts and without songwriting, a song will be nothing.

Starter Basics

This is a basic video to understand the basics of a song.

Choosing Title

title.jpg

First, you need to know what do you want to write the song about. A title is the heart and lungs of a song. Go in a garden, a storeroom, or anywhere to get inspiration and ideas for a title. For example. Waves, Time, Forever, Closed Book, Clock, Fairy, etc... Once you know a suitable title, move on to the next step.

Structure of a Song

Song Structure | Songwriting lesson 2 | Bonus tips | ElevateMusic

You need to have a particular structure or skeleton for the song. A structure is the skeleton of the song. A skeleton or structure means the whole process and the way you will be arranging different parts of a song. Some structures are

Intro, Verse, Pre-chorus, Chorus, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Bridge, Chorus

Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus

You have to choose your own song structure yourself. Please go to the website elevatemusic.renderforestsites.com for learning songwriting and more... or subscribe to my channel ElevateMusic, NextGen!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVpshQoYh_xZc0ktLMZe9mA

The song structure is the base of a song.

Lyrics

Songwriting lesson 4 | Lyric writing | Elevate Music!! NextGen!! | Songwriting fun learn

Lyrics are the words that you write in a song. Lyrics should not be all over the place and meaningless. Lyrics are like the skin and muscle of the song. They should have particular meaning and relation with the title. You must rhyme your lyrics according to your song type. For ex-

flowing like water

Keeping no slaughter

Maintaining Peace

Showing your increase

Flowing like water

Maintaining peace

keeping no slaughter

Showing your increase

You can find rhyming words with websites like https://www.rhymedesk.com/ or https://www.rhymezone.com/

Melody

Melody in Songwriting | Songwriting lesson 3 | ElevateMusic

Melodies are the tune and the music part of your song. Without a melody, your song is lifeless.

Your melody is the spine of your song. You should take any instrument like piano or guitar or flute and play notes of a scale in random order. Now you can re-arrange them to make it sound good. This is a basic way to write songs.

Now if you don't know how to play any instrument, then you can just create a melody in your head by humming something randomly. Now your melody will slightly change in each of your song parts. You should listen to your favorite songs and study their structure, melody, and lyrics and you will understand what I am talking about.

Recap

  • Lyrics are the skin and muscle and should have a particular meaning and rhyme scheme. And should also relate to the song title.
  • A song title should be interesting and chosen from ideas gotten from a room or item. It is the heart and lung of a song.
  • A song structure should be maintained throughout the song. A structure is the skeleton of the song.
  • A melody is the spine of a song and can be made by playing a scale in random order on an instrument, or by humming a certain tune by yourself randomly to make it sound good.
  • All parts of a song create the song body. This gives life to the song and makes the song amazing and enjoyable.
